About Commissaire.net
Welcome to Commissaire.net, a resource centre for cycling officials. This site is a direct descendant of a e-mail list for race commissaires that I started in 1992, while I was still a student at Texas A&M University and president of the university’s cycling team. Since then, the list has been replaced by a website, which has come and gone several times.
Since this website’s inception, I’ve moved many times outside the United States, having lived, worked and held officiating licenses in France, England and Japan. Doing so has really given me a good look at cycling around the globe, and I hope that our discussions on this site can help share experiences like mine with everyone so that we can advance the quality of our sport.
I’m presently living in Japan on an educational sabbatical, helping a friend run a small English language school while I study the Japanese language on a full-time basis.
